As we all know Steve Job’s did not even have a master’s degree, but with his brilliant marketing skills he managed to turn the tables. Today, his company has become the benchmark for various other companies that want to see themselves on the same level of recognition on which Apple stands. The company was near bankruptcy at some point of time, but with his excellent marketing skills he successfully turned the company around. Here are a few lessons that can be learned from Apple’s marketing :
  1. Keeping it Simple - Most customers appreciate it if a company keeps its marketing campaigns simple, and the companies complicate the marketing campaigns to overwhelm their customers or prospects. Apple found this concept as effective, and they made their marketing skills as simple as possible. They have not mentioned a lot of features in their marketing but their ads and other marketing messages are very straightforward. They believe in displaying simple graphics and do not consider in stripping down the content to the bare minimum.

  2. Product Placement - Using product placement is a beneficial marketing technique. Although Apple is a company with a good amount of budget and it can easily advertise its products over television and in the movies as well, but a company with a normal budget can start with the small scale sources too. A marketer can get his products promoted with the help of an influencer, the influencer can share the product over social media sites like Facebook, instagram and Snapchat. The influencer just needs to share your products and encourage the followers regarding the benefits of the product, and that is how an effective product placement can take place.

  3. Influencing Reviews - The renowned company, Apple, has done so well in the marketing industry that it’s customers keep posting satisfactory reviews and comments, and even other companies can get reviews from the customers and it’s not a very critical task. Customers can be allured just by offering a few trials or coupons, and the ball shall soon be in your court. An SEO company also provides the best services to its customers, and expects its customers to post a satisfactory SEO service review for their company, and for that they need to influence their customers with the help of free trials. You can offer a free trial or sample in exchange for a review that appears on a social media website. Trials or samples are good, but coupons are cherry on the cake. There are many customers that feel obliged if you ask them to post reviews for your site.

  4. Unique value proposition - Apple has set a benchmark for all the other companies by its different products and applications. It has never changed its prices and have never really got involved in the price wars. They have rather maintained their price albeit which is greater than any other company. Infact they have always invested in the attempts to sell their unique value proposition that makes them different from the other companies. Moreover, their products have always been worthy of being noticed by people and that's what makes people buy their products even when the prices are so freaking high. You just need to make use of such unique values for your product that have the capability to set your product apart from the rest of the market.

  5. Stand for something - The only thing which impresses the customer to the core is that their trusted company stands out for something. Most importantly, core values, if a customer can see core values in action then they feel comfortable in buying and using the products of that company. Throughout every platform, the message in reference to those core values should be consistent. When a company keeps messaging its customers, the belief of the audiences gradually increases in the company and they can count on the brand then after.

  6. Create Experiences - From those great launches which looked like concerts, movie-like advertisements and online shops, Apple successfully created experiences for its audience. However, a company should work more on creating experiences for its audience’s and a bit less on creating a product, because anybody can create a marvellous product, but it is a task to create experiences. The whole experience of searching for a good product, then buying, and lastly using it, should be exciting for the customer, only then will he return to the company once and over again.
